Mature students are usually very responsible and hardworking individuals. They don’t mind working long hours to achieve their goals. They also tend to be quite intelligent and knowledgeable about the subject which makes them great employees.
There are several types of mature student. There are students who study at university because they want to earn money while studying. These are often referred to as part time students. Another type of mature student is full time students who study at university during the day and work at night.
Full time students are usually employed outside of the university and come back to study at night. Some examples of jobs include teaching assistant, bar manager, waiter, etc.
Part time students are usually not employed outside of the university. They may work part time at the university such as tutoring, cleaning, security guard, etc.
Mature students are generally considered to be older than 18 years old. Most universities require students to be enrolled in classes for a minimum period of one year. Students who enroll in courses for less than one year are considered to be under age students.
Universities prefer mature students because they are usually responsible and hardworking. Universities also offer financial aid to help students pay for tuition fees.
