Denver is one of the best places to live in America. There are a lot of great restaurants, bars, clubs, shopping centers, and parks. But, what makes Denver unique is that it also has a large number of gay districts. These areas are usually located near the downtown area. They offer a wide range of activities such as sports, entertainment, and social events.
There are several gay districts in Denver. Some of them include LoDo, Cherry Creek North, Capitol Hill, Five Points, Civic Center, East Colfax Avenue, West Colfax Avenue, Central Platte Valley, South Broadway, and others.
You can easily visit these locations by taking public transportation. There are buses available at every corner. Also, you can take a taxi or ride share service.

The History of Gay Districts
Denver has had its share of gay districts over the years. The most famous was the Castro neighborhood, where many of the city’s gay bars were located. However, there were others too, including Capitol Hill, Cherry Creek North, and LoDo.
Today, only two neighborhoods remain as gay enclaves: Capitol Hill and downtown. But these areas aren’t necessarily safe havens for gays anymore. They’re just as dangerous as any other area of town.
But back when the Castro was thriving, it was considered a gay haven. And it still holds some of the oldest gay clubs in the country. So, does Denver have a gay district?
Why Do We Need Gay Districts?
Gay districts are neighborhoods where gays live and work together. They’re often located near parks, schools, shopping centers, restaurants, and entertainment venues.
They’re great places to meet friends, find jobs, and build businesses. And because there’s no stigma attached to being gay, many people feel comfortable living openly and freely in these areas.
But not everyone agrees. Some people believe that gay districts should be illegal. Others say they’re fine, but just wish they weren’t located next door to straight neighborhoods.
Regardless of whether you agree or disagree, it’s important to understand why we need gay districts.
Where Can You Find Them?
Denver does not have a gay district per se, but there are several places where gays congregate. The most popular place is at the annual Gay Pride Parade, held every June. There are also many bars and clubs catering specifically to the LGBT community.

What Are They Like?
Denver has several gay districts. The most well known is Cherry Creek North, where there are many bars, restaurants, shops, clubs, and hotels. There are also two gay neighborhoods in downtown Denver called LoDo (Lower Downtown) and RiNo (River North).
Cherry Creek North is home to some of the city’s biggest attractions, including the Colorado Convention Center, Pepsi Center, Coors Field, the Denver Art Museum, the Denver Zoo, the Denver Botanic Gardens, and the 16th Street Mall.
LoDo is located near Civic Center Park and includes the historic Union Station and the Denver Performing Arts Complex. RiNo is just south of downtown and is home to the popular Larimer Square area and the newly renovated Auraria campus.
While these areas offer plenty of things to do, they’re not necessarily the best places to meet people. So if you’re looking to meet people, consider visiting the following locations instead:
