You can set your location manually or automatically based on the time zone you want to view from. If you select manual, you can enter your city name or zip code. For example, if you live in New York City, you could type in Manhattan or 10001.
If you select automatic, you can choose one of seven different locations: United States, Canada, Mexico, Europe, Asia, Australia, or South America.

This is great because it gives you control over who sees your profile. You can decide whether or not to show your profile to men outside your radius.
If you’d rather just meet people nearby, you can still use geo-fencing. Simply enter your city name and radius (in miles). Whenever someone enters your area, your phone will vibrate and notify you.
When you receive a notification, open the app and swipe right on anyone who looks interesting. The person will appear in your list of matches.
Now, you’ve got some options. You can either accept the match or decline it. If you accept the match, you’ll be able to chat with them through the app.
