Wink is one of the oldest dating apps available. Launched back in 2012, Wink offers a unique approach to online dating because it focuses on building relationships instead of just hooking up.

Once you decide that you want to chat with them, you can message them directly via text or phone call. Wink also lets you share your location with other users so you can meet up at a coffee shop or bar near you.
There are three ways to communicate with other users on Wink: text messages, voice calls, and video calls. Text messages are limited to 160 characters and you can send multiple texts per day. Voice calls are unlimited and you can talk for as long as you want. Video chats are similar to Skype and you can also record videos and save them to watch later.
As mentioned earlier, Wink is free to join and you won’t have to spend money to use the service. You can search for people nearby or look for specific categories such as single professionals, single moms, etc.
When you find someone you’d like to chat with, you can send them a wink that will appear on their screen. When they wink back, you’ll both receive a notification letting you know that you’ve connected.
After you’ve chatted for awhile, you can ask them out on a real date. Wink will set you up with a time and place to meet. You can also add additional details about yourself such as your height, weight, age, education level, occupation, religion, ethnicity, political affiliation, etc.
Wink is definitely worth checking out if you’re looking to expand your social circle. It’s completely free to join and you’ll never have to pay to use the service.
The Wink App has evolved from a desktop application into a mobile one
Wink was originally designed as a desktop application. But over time, we’ve seen our users use Wink on their phones and tablets. We wanted to give them a better experience, so we created a mobile version of Wink.
We’re excited about this new release because it makes Wink available to everyone who wants to use it, whether they have a smartphone or not. And since it’s now a mobile app, we hope to attract more users and grow our community.
We now offer two apps: One for iOS and another for Android
Wink offers two apps: one for iOS devices (iPhone, iPad) and another for Android phones and tablets. The Wink app works with any smart home device that supports ZigBee wireless technology, including Philips Hue lights, Belkin WeMo switches, Samsung SmartThings appliances, and others.
To use the Wink app, simply download it onto your smartphone or tablet and pair it with your compatible smart home device. Then, open the Wink app and select the device you’d like to control. From there, you can turn lights on/off, adjust temperature settings, lock doors, and more.
