  1. Knoxville is one of the best places to live in Tennessee. We offer great jobs, beautiful scenery, and fun activities. But we also have a lot of hate crime issues, which makes us one of the most dangerous cities in America.

    We have had to fight hard against discrimination and bigotry. There are still people who don’t want to accept the fact that being gay isn’t wrong. They believe that homosexuality is immoral and should not be accepted.

    But we’ve come a long way. In 2015, Knox County passed an ordinance prohibiting discrimination based on sexual orientation or gender identity. And last year, the city council unanimously voted to support marriage equality.

    So, yes, Knoxville is very much LGBT friendly.
