Texting after a hookup isn’t necessary. But if you want to keep the spark alive, texting after a hookup is a great idea.
If you don’t text after a hookup, chances are you won’t hear back from them again. And if you do hear back from them, you might not remember their number.
So why should you text after a hookup anyway? Here are three reasons why:
1) To let them know you enjoyed yourself.
2) To ask about future plans.
3) To thank them for being such a nice person.
You could also just call them instead of texting.

There are two types of texts: 1) “thanks for last night” texts 2) “hey there” texts.
1) The thanks for last night text is appropriate when you’re meeting someone new for the first time and you’d like to thank them for being friendly and inviting. This type of text is usually sent within 24 hours of meeting someone.
2) The hey there text is appropriate anytime you want to say hi to someone who you’ve met before. This type of text should be sent within 24 hours of seeing each other again.
If you meet someone new for the first (or second) time, send him/her a “thanks for last night text.” But if you already know this person well, send him/her an “hey there text”.

Online dating relationships can be amazing, but they’re not always smooth sailing. Here are some things that can happen when you date online.
