uDate was one of the first dating apps on the market and it was developed by a group of friends at Stanford University. They wanted to create something fun and social for college students to connect with others nearby.
After graduation, the founders continued developing the app and launched it publicly in early 2011. Since then, uDate has become a leader among mobile dating applications.
Today, uDate has millions of users worldwide. And while the company continues to grow, the core values remain the same: making connections happen, connecting people, and creating lasting relationships.
We believe that every relationship deserves to start off right and we want to help you find yours. That’s why we created uDate. We hope you enjoy it as much as we enjoyed building it.
Why did uDate go away?
uDate was a great dating site because it allowed users to search for matches based on interests, hobbies, age, location, etc.
But when Facebook bought Instagram, uDate lost its main source of revenue. So uDate shut down.
Now, there are many online dating sites out there, but none offer the same level of convenience as uDate.
If you’re looking for a free dating site, try PlentyOfFish (POF). POF is a popular dating site that allows you to search for matches based upon interests, hobbies, age range, location, etc. And unlike most dating sites, POF doesn’t require you to pay a monthly fee.
Another option is eHarmony, which offers a paid membership option. But eHarmony isn’t free, and it requires a credit card number to sign up.
And finally, Match.com is another popular dating site. However, Match.com does not allow users to search for matches according to interests, hobbies, age ranges, locations, etc. Instead, Match.com only allows users to search for matches within a certain distance.
Overall, these three options are great choices for finding dates. But if you’re looking for a truly free dating site, then uDate is still worth checking out.
Is it safe to use other dating apps now?
Udate was once the most popular dating app. But after Facebook bought it, Udate became just another social network. Now there are dozens of other dating apps out there, including Tinder, Bumble, Hinge, OkCupid, PlentyOfFish, Match, Zoosk, and many others. So where does this leave us? Is it safe to use these other dating apps?
Well, yes, it’s still safe to use them. However, some of these apps may be better than Udate because they’re free, feature fewer ads, and offer more privacy options.
If you’d rather not pay for a dating app, here are some alternatives:
1) Use Google+ Hangouts instead of texting. This works great for meeting new people.
2) Join Meetup groups. These are local groups where members meet regularly to hang out socially.
3) Attend events at bars, coffee shops, restaurants, etc. People tend to go to places they already frequent.
4) Go to parties. Parties are usually hosted by friends who are looking for dates.
5) Post fliers online. Fliers are inexpensive and effective. They work well when placed near public transportation stops.
6) Ask family and friends to introduce you to people.
7) Start a blog. Blogs are a great way to build relationships and attract followers.
8) Offer to help people find jobs. Employers often hire people they’ve met through networking.
9) Become a professional matchmaker.
Are there any alternatives?
Udate was great when it launched. But now it’s been replaced by another dating app called Happn. Happn is free, and it works just like Udate. The only difference is that it uses location services instead of GPS. So you can use it anywhere, anytime, and it doesn’t require you to sign up.
Happn is a lot better than Udate because it allows you to find matches based on proximity rather than location. This means you can meet someone who lives near you, not necessarily where you live.
But if you’re looking for a dating app that offers similar features, try Tinder. It’s still very popular among millennials, and it’s free. It’s also available on iOS and Android devices.
