Memphis is the largest city in Tennessee and one of the fastest growing cities in America. As of 2015, Memphis had a population of 628,569. Of this number, about 21% were African American. In comparison, about 29% of the US population was African American.
Memphis is also home to the University of Memphis. According to Wikipedia, the university enrolls nearly 30,000 students and has a student body diversity of approximately 50%.
