As of 2010, the population of Providence is estimated at 647,869. Of this number, the majority of the population is white (64%), followed by Hispanic (19%) and Black (13%).

Burrill Street Hill is the fourth tallest hill in Providence, rising at a height of 440 feet. It is named in honor of William L. Burrill, who served as mayor of Providence from 1885 to 1889.
Elmwood Avenue Hill is the fifth tallest hill in Providence, measuring at a height of 430 feet. It is named because of its proximity to Elmwood Avenue, which runs through downtown Providence.
