Sailor Moon is a Japanese anime series which aired from 1992�1995. In the story, Usagi Tsukino is a teenage girl living in Tokyo who discovers she is actually a princess of the moon. She gains superpowers and becomes Sailor Moon, a superheroine fighting evil forces. Her sidekick is her best friend Mamoru Chiba.
Sailor Moon has had several incarnations throughout the years. There were four different manga versions released by Shueisha, one live action television show, three animated movies, and a few video games.
The original manga was written by Naoko Takeuchi and illustrated by Yumi Yoshimura. The story follows Usagi as she learns about her powers and eventually meets her friends and enemies. A sequel titled Sailor Stars was also published.
There were two live action TV shows produced by Toei Company Ltd., Japan. One premiered in 1993 and ran until 1995 while the second began airing in 1996 and ended in 1999. Both series starred voice actress/actress Megumi Hayashibara as Usagi. The 1993 series won the Best Animated Feature Film at the 1994 Asia Pacific Screen Awards.
The 1998 movie Sailor Moon R: The Movie features the characters from the third season of the anime.
The 2003 film Sailor Moon Crystal is based on the fourth season of the anime. It received critical acclaim and became the highest grossing domestic anime release of all time.
Usagi’s love interests include Ami Mizuno, Rei Hino, Makoto Kino, Minako Aino, Haruna Hiiragi, Michiru Kaioh, Mina Kubota, and Kotone Kamijyo.
Ami is the first love interest of Usagi. They met during the events of the first episode of the anime. Their relationship is short lived because Ami is kidnapped by Queen Metalia. After being rescued, Ami leaves Tokyo to study abroad.
Rei is the next love interest of Usagi, although he is not seen in the first episode. He appears later in the anime, along with his twin brother Sennin. Rei is interested in Usagi, but she rejects him. Later, Rei helps Usagi defeat Dark Kingdom.
Makoto is the third love interest of Usagi and the last character introduced in the anime. Makoto is a childhood friend of Usagi and is very protective of her. He is often jealous of the attention Usagi receives from others. Makoto is killed early in the anime by the villainous Black Lady.
Minako is the fourth and final love interest of Usagi in the anime. She is a childhood friend of Makoto and Usagi. She falls in love with Usagi after witnessing her fight against the villainess Queen Metalia. Minako is saved by Usagi and they become close friends. Minako is killed by the villainess Queen Metaria.

Sailor Moon was born out of a Japanese manga series called “Maho no Kuni.” The story follows a young girl named Usagi Tsukino who discovers she has magical powers when she transforms into her alter ego, Sailor Moon. She meets three guardian angels who teach her how to use her magic to fight evil forces.
One of the most popular characters in the Sailor Moon universe is Tuxedo Mask, a mysterious man who appears at times to be a villain and sometimes a friend. He helps protect Sailor Moon and her friends from villains and monsters.
Tuxedo Mask is actually a character from another anime series called “Robot Carnival.” In this show, he is a robot created by humans to help them fight crime. However, his true identity is revealed when he falls in love with a human woman.
This may seem like a strange topic, but there’s a reason behind it. People often assume that Sailor Moon and Tuxedo Mask are romantically involved because they share similar names. But the truth is, Sailor Moon and Tuxedos Mask are not romantically linked. They’re just two different characters from two separate stories.

Sailor Moon was created by Naoko Takeuchi, who wrote her own story. She wanted to create a character who would appeal to young girls, but she didn’t want to just copy existing characters. Instead, she decided to create a character who had never existed before.
Takeuchi did extensive research to find out what girls liked, including reading books, magazines, watching movies, and talking to friends. After creating Usagi, Takeuchi began writing her story. She drew inspiration from Japanese fairy tales, mythology, and legends. She incorporated many different themes into her story, including friendship, loyalty, courage, honor, justice, purity, and kindness.
When Takeuchi finished writing her story, she released it to the public in 1992. The manga series quickly became popular among fans worldwide. Today, Sailor Moon continues to be published in over 100 countries and translated into dozens of languages.
Today, there are several versions of Sailor Moon available, including anime, video games, toys, and live action films. There are even two spinoff series, Super S and Chibi Maruko-chan.
