OkCupid is a free online dating site which offers great features such as messaging, browsing, search, and matching.
It also provides a lot of useful information about yourself including your age, gender, relationship status, education level, religion, ethnicity, political views, interests, hobbies, and much more.
You can easily create a profile and upload multiple images of yourself. Furthermore, you can customize your preferences and search for potential partners based on your criteria.
You can also view the detailed profile of anyone you want to chat with. You can read messages sent by others, reply to them, and start conversations with them.
Moreover, you can browse through millions of user profiles and search for people according to various criteria.
So, why can’t I change my location?
When you set your location, you give us your current city name and postal code. We use this information to show you nearby people who share similar interests and values.
If you don’t specify a location, we assume you’re looking for people near you.
Since you’re not specifying a location, we show you people who live close to you.
We don’t show you people who live far away because it might take longer for them to visit your area.
Also, if you’re looking to date people from different countries, we suggest you specify your country instead of your location.
The Location Settings Page
OkCupid’s location settings page lets you select where users can find you. This feature is great because it allows you to target specific audiences based on geography.
If you’re looking to attract men in New York City, for example, you can set your profile to show only to users who live within 50 miles of Manhattan.
However, there are some limitations to this feature. For example, you cannot specify locations outside of North America. Also, you can’t restrict users’ ability to view your profile unless they’ve already visited your profile.
That said, if you’re interested in targeting local audiences, OkCupid’s location settings may be worth checking out.
Mobile vs Desktop Mode
OkCupid is a dating app where users can browse profiles based on age, gender, interests, etc., and send messages to prospective dates. Users can also search for matches nearby.
When browsing profiles, users can view photos either on desktop computers or smartphones. On desktop mode, users can scroll through profiles and tap on photos to enlarge them. On smartphone mode, however, users must pinch outwards to zoom in on photos.
This means that when users are viewing profiles on their phones, they may not be able to see some of the profile information, such as the user’s photo, because the phone screen is too small. This makes it harder for users to find matches near them.
To solve this problem, OkCupid recently added a feature called “mobile mode.” Mobile mode allows users to view profiles on their phones just like desktop mode, except that the photos appear at full resolution.
While this solves the issue of missing profile information, it creates another problem. Since users cannot scroll through profiles on their phones, there’s no way to easily move between different categories (e.g., men seeking women, women seeking men).
Instead, users must open each category separately, which takes longer than opening multiple pages on desktop mode.

Choosing a Location
OkCupid is free to use, but there are some limitations. One of them is that you can only search within 50 miles of where you live. So if you’re looking for a relationship outside of your area, you won’t find anyone.
Another limitation is that you can only set your profile picture at one place. This means that you can’t upload multiple pictures to show off different sides of yourself.
If you’d like to be able to browse profiles from across the country, you can upgrade to a paid membership. But keep in mind that this costs $9.99 per month.
